How we calculate work seniority

Seniority is the difference between the end date (or today) and the start date. We first count full years, then full months from the remainder, and the rest are days. Annual leave entitlement follows Article 154 of the Polish Labour Code: < 10 years = 20 days/year, ≥ 10 years = 26 days/year. Periods of education may also count towards leave seniority.

Example: employed from 1 January 1995 to today

An employee hired on 1 January 1995 and working until 9 June 2026 has a seniority of 31 years, 5 months and 8 days (approx. 11,482 days). Since seniority exceeds 10 years, the employee is entitled to 26 days of annual leave per year.
