Do you pay for parking regularly and want to know exactly how much it costs per month and year? Enter the hourly rate, daily parking hours and working days per month — the calculator will show daily, monthly and annual costs. For monthly passes, select the pass type and enter its price.
For hourly parking (zone, private car park, garage): daily cost = hourly rate × hours per day; monthly cost = daily cost × working days per month; annual cost = monthly cost × 12. For a monthly pass: monthly cost = pass price; daily cost = pass price / working days; annual cost = pass price × 12.
Rate: PLN 5/h, 8 h per day, 20 working days. Daily cost: 5 × 8 = PLN 40. Monthly cost: 40 × 20 = PLN 800. Annual cost: 800 × 12 = PLN 9,600. Comparison: a PLN 300/month pass saves PLN 500/month and PLN 6,000/year.
Rates vary by city and zone. In Warsaw, Zone I costs PLN 6/h; in Kraków from PLN 3 to 6/h. Smaller cities typically charge PLN 1–3/h. The inner sub-zone in Warsaw charges PLN 8/h. Always check local regulations before parking.
A pass is a fixed monthly fee for the right to park in a specific location or zone, regardless of hours. Hourly parking is billed proportionally to time. A pass is cost-effective if you park daily for many hours; occasional users are better off with hourly billing.
If parking is related to business activity (client meetings, business trips), the cost can be treated as a tax-deductible expense. Employees generally cannot deduct commuting costs; if an employer reimburses parking, it becomes taxable income for the employee.
Monthly cost = hourly rate × daily hours × working days per month. Example: PLN 5/h × 8 h × 20 days = PLN 800/month. The calculator does this automatically and also shows the annual figure.
Prices vary widely: in Warsaw city centre from PLN 300 to over PLN 1,000/month, in Kraków and Wrocław from PLN 150 to 500, in smaller cities from PLN 50 to 200. Underground car parks in large city centres can cost PLN 1,500–2,000/month.
The inner sub-zone (SPPN podstrefa) has higher rates and time limits — e.g. 2–3 hours. In Warsaw the sub-zone rate is PLN 8/h with progressive pricing. Long-term parking in the sub-zone is expensive and often impossible due to time limits.
Guarded parking has security, CCTV and operator liability for your vehicle; it is more expensive but safer. Unguarded parking (e.g. on-street paid zone) charges only for time — no additional protection or operator liability for damage.
Tips: buy a pass if you park regularly; use park & ride facilities outside the centre (often free or cheap); use public transport; look for free spots outside the paid zone; park before 8:00 or after 18:00 (outside charging hours in most cities).
Failure to pay incurs a surcharge — legally set at 10× the hourly rate, minimum PLN 50 and maximum PLN 500 (depends on municipality). Repeated non-payment can lead to court or bailiff proceedings.
Yes — garage or parking space costs are a significant part of TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). Annual garage costs in a large city centre can range from PLN 6,000 to 18,000, substantially affecting the economics of owning a car in an urban area.
Results are indicative. Actual costs depend on specific rates in the given zone or car park. Always check current prices with the parking operator or local paid parking zone regulations.
