Subscription Cost Calculator 2026

Digital and service subscriptions have become an integral part of our monthly spending — from Netflix to gym memberships to office software. The problem is that small monthly amounts accumulate unnoticed, leading to so-called subscription creep. The subscription cost calculator helps you add up all active subscriptions and shows the real monthly, annual, and daily cost of your subscriptions. Enter your monthly spending on streaming (Netflix, Spotify, Disney+), software (Microsoft 365, Adobe, Dropbox), gym or other sports services, and any other subscriptions. The result shows the total monthly amount, the annual cost, and the daily cost — helping you decide whether each subscription is worth its price.

How we calculate subscription costs

Monthly cost = sum of all entered subscriptions (streaming + software + gym + other). Annual cost = monthly cost × 12. Daily cost = annual cost ÷ 365. All results are rounded to 2 decimal places.

Example: typical subscriptions for a Polish user

Streaming (Netflix + Spotify): PLN 100, software (Microsoft 365 + iCloud): PLN 80, gym: PLN 120, other (press, games): PLN 50. Total monthly cost: PLN 350. Annual cost: PLN 4,200. Daily cost: PLN 11.51 — almost the price of a coffee every day.

Frequently asked questions about subscription costs

What is a subscription cost calculator?

This calculator lets you add up all monthly subscription fees — streaming, software, gym, and others — and calculate the total monthly, annual, and daily cost. It helps you clearly see how much you are actually spending on subscriptions.

Why is it worth tracking subscription costs?

Subscriptions suffer from "subscription creep" — small amounts accumulate unnoticed. Someone paying PLN 30-50 for several services may be spending over PLN 500 per month. Regular tracking helps identify unused subscriptions and save money.

What counts as streaming subscriptions?

This category includes: Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Premium, Tidal, and similar video and music streaming services. Enter the total monthly amount for all such services.

Software includes: Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, antivirus, Dropbox, Google One, iCloud, and work tools (Slack, Notion, Zoom). Include both personal subscriptions and remote work tools you pay for out of pocket.

Annual cost = monthly cost multiplied by 12. Daily cost = annual cost divided by 365. The daily cost makes it easy to assess the value of each subscription — for example, PLN 1.50 per day equals PLN 547 per year.

Regularly review your active subscriptions and cancel unused ones. Consider sharing subscriptions with family (family plans are cheaper per person), and replace some services with free alternatives. Taking breaks from seasonal subscriptions (e.g. gym in summer) also saves money.

In most cases yes — services offer 10-30% discounts for annual payments. If you are certain you will use the service for the full year, an annual subscription is worthwhile. Be cautious with services you rarely actually use.

Studies show that average spending on digital subscriptions is between PLN 150 and PLN 400 per month, and the total is often underestimated. That is exactly why using this calculator to add up all fees is valuable — awareness of spending is the first step to optimisation.

For many households, subscriptions are a significant budget item — comparable to utility bills. It is worth including them in budget planning (they typically fall under the 30% "wants" category). When a budget is tight, subscriptions are often the first category to review and cut.

The calculator works with values entered by the user — enter the amount converted to Polish zloty (PLN). If you pay in euros or dollars, convert the amount at the current exchange rate before entering it into the calculator.

Results are indicative and based solely on data entered by the user. The calculator does not account for discounts, promotions, or annual subscriptions paid as a lump sum. Adjust values to your actual monthly payments.
