The bathroom tiles cost calculator helps you estimate how much material you need to tile a bathroom and what you will pay. Enter the floor and wall area, the waste percentage for cuts, the tile price and the adhesive-plus-grout price per m² — the calculator returns the area with waste, the tile cost, the adhesive and grout cost, and the total material cost.
Area with waste = area (m²) × (1 + waste% / 100) Tile cost = area with waste × price per m² Adhesive and grout cost = area with waste × adhesive and grout price per m² Total cost = tile cost + adhesive and grout cost
Area 20 m² with 10% waste = 22 m². Tile cost: 22 × 80 = PLN 1,760. Adhesive and grout: 22 × 25 = PLN 550. Total material cost = PLN 2,310 (excluding tiler labour).
First measure the area to be tiled — the sum of floor and wall areas covered with tiles (in m²). Add a waste allowance for cuts and breakage, typically 10% (up to 15% for complex layouts or diagonal laying). Multiply the area with waste by the tile price per m². The calculator does this automatically and adds the adhesive and grout cost.
The standard allowance is 10% of the area. For a simple rectangular room with straight laying, 7–10% is enough. For diagonal or herringbone patterns, many niches and corners, or large-format tiles, allow 12–15%. The allowance covers cuts, possible breakage and a reserve for later repairs.
Ceramic tile prices in 2026 start at about PLN 40–50/m² for basic porcelain stoneware. Mid-range tiles cost PLN 70–120/m², while large-format, decorative or premium glazed porcelain runs PLN 150–300/m² and up. On average about PLN 80/m² is assumed for a bathroom.
Adhesive use depends on tile format and trowel — roughly 3–5 kg/m² for small and medium tiles and 5–8 kg/m² for large format. Grout uses about 0.3–0.7 kg/m². The combined adhesive and grout cost is typically PLN 20–30/m². The calculator defaults to PLN 25/m².
No. The calculator counts only material cost: tiles, adhesive and grout. Tiler labour in Poland in 2026 typically adds PLN 80–150/m² for standard laying, and up to PLN 150–250/m² for large format, mosaic or complex cuts. Labour should be priced separately from a professional quote.
Wall area is width × tiling height. If tiles reach the ceiling, use the full room height; if only to a set height (e.g. 2 m), multiply by that height. You may subtract the area of doors and large windows. Add the total of all walls to the floor area.
Not necessarily. Floor tiles must have an adequate wear class and slip resistance (e.g. R10), so they are usually thicker and a little more expensive. Wall tiles can be thinner and more decorative. If you use different tiles at different prices, calculate the areas separately or use an average price.
Yes, this matters. Tiles from different batches (the "caliber" mark and batch number on the box) can vary slightly in shade and size, which can show after laying. So buy the whole required quantity with the waste allowance from one batch and check the box markings.
Besides tiles, adhesive and grout, allow for: primer under the adhesive, liquid waterproofing membrane in the wet zone, sealing tapes for corners, finishing trims/profiles, spacer crosses and silicone for corners. These extras typically add 10–20% of the tile value.
The calculator gives an indicative tiling material cost based on average market prices in Poland 2026. It does not replace a full estimate — it excludes labour, waterproofing, priming, trims, fittings and substrate preparation. Set the final budget from measurements and quotes from contractors and shops.
