How the calculator estimates retirement age

Statutory retirement age: Woman = 60 years Man = 65 years Retirement year = birth year + retirement age Years to retirement = max(0; retirement year − 2026) The calculator covers only the statutory retirement age and excludes bridging or early pensions.

Example: a woman born in 1985

A woman born in 1985: statutory retirement age 60 → retirement year 1985 + 60 = 2045. With the current year 2026, there are still 19 years left until retirement.

Frequently asked questions

At what age do you retire in Poland?

The statutory retirement age in Poland is 60 for women and 65 for men. Once you reach this age you can apply for a pension from ZUS. The age is the same regardless of your birth year.

How do I calculate my retirement year?

The retirement year is your birth year plus the retirement age. For a woman born in 1985: 1985 + 60 = 2045. For a man born in 1965: 1965 + 65 = 2030. The calculator does this automatically.

How many contribution years are needed for the minimum pension?

For the guaranteed minimum pension a woman needs at least 20 years of contributory and non-contributory periods, and a man at least 25 years. Without this, ZUS pays a pension based on accumulated capital, even if it is below the minimum.
