Facade Cost Calculator 2026

Planning a facade renovation or new build and want a quick cost estimate? This calculator helps you estimate facade costs based on four parameters: area to be finished, material cost per m², labour cost per m² and a contingency reserve. Results show material costs, labour costs, base cost and total with reserve. The calculator works for silicone render (approx. PLN 60–100/m²), clinker (PLN 120–200/m²) and wood or composite cladding (PLN 150–300/m²). Prices may vary by region — always get at least 2–3 quotes from contractors before making a financial decision. A 10–20% contingency reserve is standard for facade works.

How the facade cost calculator works

Calculator formula: 1. Material cost = area (m²) × material cost (PLN/m²) 2. Labour cost = area (m²) × labour cost (PLN/m²) 3. Base cost = material cost + labour cost 4. Cost with reserve = base cost × (1 + reserve / 100) Where: - Area — total external wall area to be finished in m² - Material cost — price of chosen finish (render, clinker, wood) per m² - Labour cost — contractor rate per m² for material application - Reserve — percentage added to base cost for unforeseen expenses

Example: rendered facade 200 m², silicone render

House facade area 200 m², silicone render: material cost = 200 × PLN 80 = PLN 16,000. Labour cost = 200 × PLN 60 = PLN 12,000. Base cost = PLN 16,000 + PLN 12,000 = PLN 28,000. With 10% reserve: PLN 28,000 × 1.10 = PLN 30,800. This is a realistic estimate for an average single-family house with silicone render in 2026.

Frequently asked questions about facade costs

How much does facade renovation cost in Poland in 2026?

Facade costs in Poland range from PLN 130 to PLN 400/m² including labour. Silicone render is approx. PLN 130–200/m², clinker PLN 200–350/m², wood or composites PLN 200–450/m². The final price also depends on substrate condition, building height and accessibility.

How to calculate facade area for a single-family house?

Facade area is the sum of all external wall surfaces. For a rectangular building: perimeter × wall height. Subtract windows and doors (each window approx. 1.5–2 m², door approx. 2 m²). For complex architecture, measure each wall separately or ask a contractor to do an on-site survey.

Which render to choose — silicone, mineral or acrylic?

Silicone render is most recommended for its durability (15–25 years), vapour permeability and stain resistance. Mineral render is the cheapest but needs painting. Acrylic is easy to apply and colour-stable. For passive and low-energy houses, silicone or silicate render is the optimal choice.

The calculator only covers material and labour costs based on the rates you enter. Scaffolding (PLN 5–15/m² per month), substrate preparation and material transport should be added separately. Setting a 15–20% reserve is recommended to cover these additional costs.

A standard contingency reserve for facade works is 10–20%. For a new building in good condition, 10% is sufficient. For older buildings, complex architecture (balconies, bay windows, ornaments) or uncertain substrate condition, 15–20% is recommended. The calculator defaults to 10%.

Labour rates for facade works in Poland in 2026 range from PLN 50–120/m² for render and PLN 80–200/m² for clinker or wood. Higher rates apply for work at height, complex architectural details or in major cities. The calculator defaults to PLN 60/m² as an average rate.

Wall insulation (e.g. polystyrene or mineral wool) is a separate cost — approx. PLN 80–150/m² for materials and installation. The rendered facade on insulation (ETICS system) adds another PLN 60–120/m². The calculator only covers the finishing layer — if you plan insulation, add its cost to the material rate.

Facade renovation of a house with 200–300 m² of facade typically takes 4–8 weeks. Scaffolding erection takes 1–2 days, substrate preparation 2–5 days, system application 2–4 weeks. Facade work cannot be done below 5°C or in rain, so the schedule depends on weather conditions.

Silicone or acrylic render lasts 15–25 years. Signs for renovation: cracks, flaking render, algae or mould growth, visible damp. Regular pressure washing every 5–7 years extends facade life significantly. Clinker and wood need maintenance every 5–10 years, and wood impregnation every 3–5 years.

Yes, the calculator works for any building type — house, tenement or apartment block. Just enter the total facade area and rates suitable for the chosen finish. For large multi-family buildings, labour rates may be slightly lower due to scale. The result is an indicative estimate — a detailed quote requires an on-site inspection by a contractor.

Calculator results are indicative and based on average market prices for 2026 in Poland. Actual costs depend on location, contractor quotes, substrate condition, finish type and site conditions. Always collect at least 3 quotes from contractors before making a financial decision.
